It was a great pleasure to deliver a guest lecture to an ERASMUS+ cohort (from Norway, Germany, and other European countries) at the Athens University of Economics and Business.
The occasion resonated deeply with me, as I recalled -and shared in my introductory remarks- my own experience as an Erasmus student at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2000, during my full-time MBA studies at AUEB. For decades, the Erasmus Programme has been a cornerstone of European integration, fostering cross-border mobility, intercultural competence, and a shared European identity across generations of students.
My lecture, titled “Shifting Global Currency Power and Risk -- The Dollar and the Euro in a Changing World,” reflected on the evolving dynamics of the international monetary system through an interdisciplinary approach.
I extend my sincere thanks to the students for the engagement, energy, and openness they brought to the discussion; their thoughtful contributions made the exchange genuinely meaningful. I wish you continued growth throughout your Erasmus journey and beyond.
A heartfelt thank you to Professor Emerita Ioanna Sapfo Pepelasis for the kind invitation and the generous words.
